Michael Fish was the MAAC Player of the Year and led the conference in home runs (12), hits (81), runs scored (54), total bases (136) and slugging percentage (.602), ranking second in the league in RBI (50) and doubles (17), and fifth in average (.358) as a senior. He helped the Saints reach the MAAC Championship game for the second time in the past three years this May. Fish was drafted in the 32nd Round of Major League Baseball's First Year Player's Draft by the Angels on June 8. Fish continued his amazing 2013 campaign hitting a combined .366 with 9 HR and 42 RBI in the minors last summer, playing 20 games with the Arizona League's Angels and 26 games with the Orem Owlz of the Pioneer League. He hit a robust .409 for the Angels with 10 doubles before being promoted to Orem, where he hit .337 with seven homers and 33 RBI.

The Delmar, NY native is a superb athlete that can hit for average and power. One scout I spoke to called him Mike Trout-lite, so I had to ask him if he was serious, and he replied with just a smile. Fish has a nice compact swing and he can drive the ball to all fields. Has enough pop to eventually be a 20-25 home run guy. A solid average runner with great instincts, Fish can also go get it in the outfield. Solid defensively in centerfield with a good enough arm to stick there. Look for Fish to start his first full season in the minors with the Burlington Bees in Low-A ball. The Midwest League is typically tough to get into a rhythm due to the cold and so many games postponed due to weather. If Fish has another good season at the plate and in the field, you'll see him him shoot up the prospect chart on next year's prospect list.
