The ump got hit by the pitch that hit Pujols and was out for a bit.

When Pujols got HBP, the ball hit the home plate ump in the wrist and knocked him out. Guess rather than delaying the game, they just had another ump call balls/strikes from behind the pitchers mound, while another ump took his time to get the umpire's gear on.

No umpire behind home? This is why I love the Spring Training and baseball in general. You never know what you're going to see each day when you tune in.

I think you have to go by track record over spring numbers.  For instance, Weaver got lit up last spring, then came out in April on fire and even tossed a no-hitter.  

In the case of someone like today's pitcher, Vargas, he's put up solid numbers in the regular season, so just because he looks less than completely sharp in the spring, I'm not reading anything into it.

You can't express concern about anything about the Angels until at least June on these boards, otherwise, you're labeled a "failo", even if it's abundantly obvious that there are serious concerns.
