I'm wondering if the Angels have gotten the worst value from their free agent contracts in baseball over the last few years, if we look at WAR/$. It would take awhile, but it would be interesting to look at free agency contracts for each team, and what those free agents produced in terms of WAR, and what the overall value was. With Blanton, Wells, Hamilton, and Pujols, I imagine the Angels are among the worst in baseball.

I'm an idiot and don't really know how options work. Does Blanton actually have options? I mean, we all assume he isn't going to be on the team, but is he even able to start the year in Salt Lake? Will Arte be willing to pay him 8.5 million to do so?
