Pittsburgh's Kris Letang has a stroke

Recommended Posts

Kris Letang has not played for the Pittsburgh Penguins since Jan. 27. There was some mystery as to why he was out the lineup and on Friday, the team released the surprisingly news that the 26-year old defenseman had recently suffered a stroke.

He will be treated with blood thinners and the belief, at the moment, is that this is not career-threatening. Letang will miss at least the next six weeks.

Welcome back, Tanger!

Set to play tonight against Detroit. According to docs, playing hockey again will not increase risk of having related problems. Happy to hear that.

Hope he brings a spark. Pens have slept through the post-olympic portion of their season. Of course, having everyone on the roster hurt may have something to do with that as well.
