70 bags of heroin. Does one bag equal one dose? The inference in the media is that he bought 70 bags Saturday night after withdrawing cash from the ATM. Three empty bags would make it seem as though he used three bags that night and early that morning. I wonder why they are saying accidental overdose. I didn't know the guy but I would lean toward an intentional overdose. Just based on how much he bought and used. The toxicology results should show how much he had in his system. It would appear that he knew exactly what he was using and how much he was using.

Perhaps he bought in large quantities because he had the money to so?

 

Even though these guys are junkies, I'm sure they'd still rather meet up with their suppliers as few times as possible to avoid getting caught.

Maybe he was buying so much so he wouldn't run out. Maybe he was like a lot of rock star/artist/actors that are larger than life. Live to excess, buy in excess, party to excess. Face it, unless there was a note that is made public we will never know if it was intentional. I must have been absent the day during physcologist school(where I became a carpenter) that they covered suicidal tendencies. We laugh, we joke, we cope.

i had read that he liked to snort heroin as well. Does anybody know what quantities these "bags" represent? I remember hearing about balloons of horse and nickel or dime bags but how does that work as far as dosage goes?

Most people that are addicts buy in bulk, if financially possible. Druggies aren't your TV or media driven junkies that are poor and on the outs, they are real everyday people......these people have careers, priorities, etc. Buying in bulk hides having to go out, like you mention, embarassment, or mainly to be able to always have the high available....chasing the dragon is an expression that I believe to be real. This applies to everyone addicted to something, go until you are content.

 

From my experience, you get a bulk discount but you are stocked which is the primary concern. When you are on one and want to keep going, bad things happen. You start ****ing with heroin and other hard shit and you get to a point of "just one more hit" being death.

Am familiar with "chasing the dragon". I have back issues and over the years have had problems getting meds correct. I won't bore you with too many details but the first pill of the day is usually the best. Used to spend the rest of the day trying to feel as good as I did with the first pill. Is all about self control balanced with a maintenance level of pain meds.

yeah.

seems to me when you're a drug addict with limitless funds, buying in bulk is the way to go.

less contact with shady drug dealers the better - do it all at once.

 

im curious how an opiate OD works - do you just go lights out, or do you kind of know for a second "uh oh" w/ a bit of a panic attack and then lights out.
