   Normally, our good friend Lou would be starting this, but it would be my pleasure to officially kick off the 2023 college football season in his honor 🙏. A couple games of note today, Notre Dame takes on traditional foe, Navy in Dublin and the Trojans start their final year in the PAC12, with San Jose State. I think both teams should win. Navy is breaking in a new coach and new offensive system, while USC should have no issues if their defense decides to show up. Should be an interesting season with the impending movement out of conferences. I can’t wait.

   After last night’s NBA ASG, where many of the players said they didn’t care, should the game be scrubbed altogether. The other leagues have changed formatting but the interest is lukewarm. One of the best gifts I ever got was a program from my uncle who went to the 80 MLB game at Dodger Stadium. with national TV, people seem to get enough of these players unlike way back when (even before TV). Do you think they are salvageable?

   GB, who do you like? I think Shared Belief is the best horse but the pace sets up well for Chrome. 9 furlongs will make a difference too. I think he holds him off. I put my future bet in on Prospect Park yesterday

   I just figured I'd create a thread where people could post openings in their fantasy baseball leagues here. I just filled all my spots in my 10-Team Dynasty League that's celebrating our 16th year but I'm open to joining a deeper league if there's a competitive one.    Max Homa wins the first tournament of the year up in Napa Valley at Silverado Country Club. I went to college not too far from there and our golf class got to use the driving range one afternoon. It felt very grown-up for all of us.

    One of the great things about living in Japan is, even though I'm overseas, I still get to enjoy live baseball. Every spring Japanese Major League teams come to Okinawa for their version of Spring Training. This weekend I'm going to go check it out this weekend, see if I can't catch a few games.     Cam Smith wins the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui to win the opening tournament of the new year (yes, I know the season was already underway). He shot a ridiculous -34 to win by one over Jon Rahm. Matt Jones finished third at -32. On to Oahu next week for the Sony Open.

    Well I have recently decided that I need to play golf much more than the once a month or so I have been playing for the past couple of years. In the spirit of seeing how I am improving I am going to post my scores here when I go. Maybe you want to do the same?     Discuss USC football here. Fight On! USC just finished Spring football. I was at the Spring game last Saturday. Obviously everyone is looking at QB. IMO Kessler looked better than Wittek, but the competition is far from over. Agholor and Lee will be every bit as good as Woods and Lee. Also return 2 productive TE's. Offensive line returning everyone but 1 starter (K. Holmes). Marcus Martin looks like the starting center right now. Defensive front 7 looked solid, but the again its the spring game and its hard to judge.
