Rumor claims Samsung will unleash its craziest smartphone ever in JanuaryThis does make sense if true. I think the tech is there. It pretty much will give you a pad for the size of a non phablet.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-you-ll-be-paying-a--netflix-tax--soon-161951515.html Annual U.S. sales of DVDs and Blu-ray discs has fallen from a high of $20.2 billion a decade ago to around $10 billion, according to data from the Digital Entertainment Group, while the Recording Industry Assocation of America reports shipments of CDs fell from $13.2 billion in 2000, to $1.9 billion last year. In response, the city of Chicago is experimenting with having local taxes collected on cloud computing services and streaming music and video. Other state governments like Tennessee and Idaho are experimenting with new taxes as well.

Wife bought a $5 laptop the other day at a garage sale. Brought it home. Shut down every device on the network and booted it up...long story short the thing was riddled with all sorts of viruses/malware..no wonder they got rid of it. Tried to create a windows 8 installation usb and wipe it clean to no avail (and lots of yelling and screaming)...so I said screw it and just installed ubuntu. $5 and we have a pretty spiffy laptop with a 17 inch screen. The only downside is...damn keyboard cut the lower left shit key in half and put the backslash key on the other half (which it looks like ubuntu remapped to the < key so I'm going to have to fix that). For a touch typi…

Should I go for the: S6 Edge + http://www.sprint.com/landings/galaxy/#!/ The Note 5 (I have a Note III currently) iPhone 6 plus The latest LG phone (heard they're great) Or wait till another awesome smartphone comes out in another month? (I don't want to wait more than a month). Thoughts? Loved my Note III until the past couple months. The battery is dying fast. I've even tried factory resetting, using two different batteries. Won't make it through half a day for me. Ugh! I carry two extra batteries in my wallet. Luckily I'm plugged in at work or when I'm at home, or in the car when driving. Just want better battery life with all the latest te…

I've been having a ton of trouble with my school computer. It's an older mac laptop that has worked great, but on occasion the cursor would skip to some random place while i was typing and start in the middle of some other word. it was annoying, but i lived with it. the click bar on the trackpad stopped working over a year ago. just won't click easily or regularly, so i bought an external mouse. it seemed to work fine. this week it has been a train wreck. the mouse is suddenly highlighting random things and i can't undo it. it also has stopped working completely - the click buttons on it become useless. i've found that restarting my computer allows me to use it ag…

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for years. I run Adblock Plus on it. Lately it's been freezing up on me. I have downloaded all the updates but it's still running a little slower than usual. Anyone else have this problem? What are you using and what kind of problems does it have or is it really fast? Let's not bring up IE as it is worse Chrome, Opera etc Thanks for the input.

Samsung Display Introduces First Mirror and Transparent OLED Display Panels The Transparent looks straight out of a Sci Fi movie. Kind of would be interesting if this goes mainstream, and the pricepoint drops from what I'm sure is a quite high number.

HTC’s epic One M9 disaster keeps getting worse I didn't realize it was so bad for HTC. Although come to think of it, the M9 wasn't even in consideration when I wanted to upgrade my phone.

A buddy of mine helped to create an app called Challenged. They just launched yesterday. The reason I bring it up is the event ticket company Gametime is running a challenge on people doing the best trick shot to win $1000 credit on their app. I figured people here would use the $1,000 on Angels or Ducks/Kings tickets. A few other challenges that may interest people here are a **** Cancer challenge as well as a challenge of the best way to spend 20K in a day (the winner will actually get the 20K to spend in a day in the way that they said they would). If you have a business that you want to promote it seems like it would be a pretty good platform to do so. …

If you don't have it...you should think about getting it. Much better than how Apple handles photos...and their auto technology for "phone" photos is pretty impressive. Automatically creates some pretty impressive animated .gifs, slideshows, and albums. Hell, I've even started uploading some of my dslr photos just to see what it will do with it. Stuff like this..... https://goo.gl/photos/j4DW3oyncXvtaNX48 (if you click on the link you will see a series of photos I took of a surfer catching their ride of the day...hell...month)

Anyone have one? Mine came last week. So far I've been impressed with two things. First, it's amazing all the things I thought this thing could do without realizing it isn't JARVIS. It's not going to know what year Bill Clinton graduated college. I just assumed that since the internet knows it, Echo would. But it can't really decipher all the information on the internet. Finding obscure facts like that is just outside of its current range. It's clear at some point it will get there. Maybe not this current version, but the world is definitely moving towards it. But I imagined, without thinking, that it could do stuff like that right out of the box. It can't. Second, I'm…

All 4.3 billion IP addresses created in 1981 will be gone by summer Engineers who created 4.3 billion Internet Protocol addresses back in 1981 probably thought that by the time we ran through all those, we'd be puttering around in flying cars. Flying cars are going to be a while, but it looks like our IP numbers are finally up: The American Registry for Internet Numbers, the group that hands out the numerical codes, says there are only 3.4 million IPv4 addresses left, and the group's president says the supply will probably dry up by summer, the Wall Street Journal reports. Major companies like Amazon and Microsoft are scooping up remaining addresses while they…
