AT&T says 5G will be 100 times faster than LTE and may even launch this year 5G is the next generation of wireless data technology that will deliver speeds 100 times faster than today’s 4G LTE services by using technologies such as millimeter waves, network function virtualization (NFV), and software-defined networking (SDN). Tests will begin in AT&T labs in the second quarter this year while outdoor tests of 5G will take place over the summer. “Customers will see speeds measured in gigabits per second, not megabits,â€ AT&T crows. “For reference, at one gigabit per second, you can download a TV show in less than 3 seconds. Customers will also see…

Okay. So there are numerous posts within threads complaining about Android battery life. Well, here's an app that has reduced battery consumption from energy sucking apps and gets me through a full day on a single charge. Package Disabler Pro (Samsung) This app allows users to disable systems apps baked into Samsungs OS. I disabled approximately 190 system apps which improved my battery life by 15-20%. The two most notorious battery suckers are Facebook and Instagram. Both apps seem to continuously run in the background. So I disabled the Facebook, and use my mobile Chrome browser to surf Facebook. Here's my list of disabled apps: <disabledPackages c…

LG G5 Rumors, Specs, Features, Concept, Price, Presales, Release Date InfoNothing really concrete. And definitely more of a fanboy type of site that gushes over the LG. But some weird things they are thinking of trying. Notice that the front facing camera is going to be the heavy hitter now. Plus I also believe the front facing camera is a dual camera. I guess they think that selfies are more important now. Wish both front and rear was equal, since I rarely take front shots. This one is intriguing.

Want to buy my wife a new laptop for Christmas and I am between a 13 inch Air or 13 inch Pro. Performance wise either will do for her, she just uses it for browsing the net and minor office type work and watching videos etc. The big difference between the two is that the Air doesn't have a retina display while the Pro does. Anyone have any experience with the Air and Pro and have an opinion how much better the screen is on the pro? Is the Air screen still pretty good? Also yes I know macs suck blah blah blah

I've looked up a bunch of various options and the links seem dated or so there is so many contradictory info out there, I don't know what's what. Long story short, I want to toss my dvd's. What's the best, easiest, or just overall logical way to save dvd info somewhere to watch on a computer, PS4, etc,? I bought a terabyte hard drive some years ago, but don't even know if that method or hard drive is dated. I just want to save everything in one location to watch whenever on different platforms......something maybe to take on trips, on a plane, or just load up in the home. Is there equipment or software? Cloud or hard drive based? Anyone here do something l…

I'm looking to get a security setup for my place - anyone have experience with these? I want normal motion alarms, glass alarms, etc but also camera that record video to a DVR. I have heard good and bad about ADT. The techier the better (i.e. preferably has an ipad/iphone app). But I want it to be solid. Not sure about monitoring. I'd also like to get a video intercom but I think that's orthagonal to overall security setup. I know I can throw in an aiphone vide intercom and be done with it.

So I bought a pair of bluetooth headphones for when I walk the dog and maybe one day actually running. I have only used them twice and they cut in and out like crazy. Some people have said having them in your pocket isn't great for the connection, but my pocket is like two feet away. That can't be real can it? Maybe an arm band would be better? Or maybe the headphones just suck? Any advice on how to make it better? It's just for music and listening to it cut in and out drives me ****ing crazy. I would rather watch Salas be the closer.

My last two A/V receivers have been Harman Kardon and I have liked them but the reviews on the newest batch indicates that they leave a lot to be desired. I always enjoyed the minimal design and my last one (HK AVR 254) lasted 7 years. I was looking at the HK AVR 1610S it seems to have everything I need. My speakers are a really nice set of Infinity satellites and subwoofer. I only have 5.1 and have no reason to get 7.1. http://www.amazon.com/Harman-Kardon-AVR1610S-Receiver-Bluetooth/dp/B016A6IDY2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451240202&sr=8-1&keywords=1610S The reviews I read said to go Yamaha but they look so cheap that I don't really care to get them.…

For those that have the XBoxOne, if I get that one I might have a problem. My room doesn't have a internet wire going into it so I couldn't plug it in online. Does anyone know if I can buy a router that speaks to my modem or if it comes with an internal wireless router already?

I'd be interested in taking it off your hands or buying it from you for my daughter. Poor girl just got a new phone and we didn't get the insurance since I got her a good protective case and screen, but she dropped it just perfectly one day after taking off the case and it cracked the screen pretty bad, in so much that LCD doesn't respond and is glitchy. Oh yeah, has to be a sprint phone.

Apple To Abandon Headphone Jack? New Leak Reveals Massive Gamble This rumor keeps coming up ever since they patented a design and bought beats. It's like Apple wants to jump the shark, but know people will be sheep and spend hundreds on proprietary headphones instead of reusing the cheapies they have had forever.

You guys with websites, I'm looking for a crash course on 2015 search engine optimization. I haven't created any brand new websites in a very long time and I'm quickly realizing that SEO has become more complicated than web design and server configuration. There's just so many settings, tweaks, overrides, yada yada yada, that I feel overwhelmed by it. In the old days, before things like Google Search Console, Google Webmaster Tools, or XML sitemaps, I never put much effort into SEO, and somehow, Google / Yahoo / Bing found my little sites anyway. All of my old knowledge about SEO is completely obsolete, it seems.

Hello All, So first of all, sadly, I had no idea AW.com had a Tech Forum.... shame on me! Wondering if any of you could lend some advice on a computer problem. Earlier today my desktop was working just fine (HP Phoenix Envy running Windows 8.1). I returned to the computer after a period of about two hours (it was still on) and I tried opening a web browser and it was really sluggish. The computer then essentially froze up on me although the mouse still moved around. I've restarted it several times and get similar effects. It makes it to the desktop screen and some of the normal programs seem to do there normal load but the moment I try to hit the start menu it won't …

Scientists can now “squeezeâ€ light, a breakthrough that could make computers millions of times faster Have you ever wondered why we don’t use light to transmit messages? Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, but while we use light to carry signals along fiber optic cables, we use electrons to process sound and information in our phones and computers. The reason has always been because light particles–photons—are extremely difficult to manipulate, whereas electrons can be manipulated relatively easily. But now a group of Harvard physicists has taken a major step toward solving that puzzle, and have brought us one step closer to ultra-fast, ligh…

Snapdragon 820 processor 4 gb ram 32 or 64 gb with a mini sd card capabilities 5.8 inches, G4 is 5.5 No mention of removable battery Camera will be 27 MP rear camera Here is an interesting thing that no one seems to know if it's true or not. I just don't get it. I've started to try and use it more, or at least started to open it up to think about how I could potentially use it...it seems like one big giant clusterf&()*). It's like the world's largest gameday thread and the Angels are losing by 5 and being shutout after Scioscia has ordered Mike Trout to sacrifice bunt with 1 out. I've been updating my Patagonia profile, and apparently when I post photos to my facebook redinkphotography page it posts to Twitter. Cool..don't remember doing that, but apparently I did. So I get this retweet and I think that's nice, so I follow that person and now I just have a thread of retweets from this person...none of whi…

I'm thinking of trading in my HTC One M8 for the Note 5. I've read a lot of reviews and most of the negative feedback basically comes down to the lack of expandable memory and not having a removable battery. All other feedback is extremely favorable, especially performance, the stylus pen and photos. For me, the memory and battery is really not an issue. Anyone have one? What is your experience and do you feel it's worth the cost? Thanks!

its available now for PS4 and XB1 users now for sure, not sure about PC but I believe it is as well. On PS4 it can be downloaded from the PS store battlefront page. Scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see the beta download link. It will be available to play until the 12th. Has anyone else had a chance to check it out yet ? Ive played the single player mission mode a few times and the game is as advertised from a visuals point of view. It looks awesome and is super authentic to the Star Wars universe. Cant really emphasis enough how impressive the game is right now from an audio video persepctive. It really does make you feel like your in the middle of a …
